Stepping into their Next Chapter Together: Emily & Jenna’s Wedding Day At The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs
Updated: Sep 11

Emily and Jenna’s wedding at The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs was a beautiful celebration filled with love, intention, and so many unforgettable moments that reflected not only their relationship, but the incredible community surrounding them.
The day began at the charming General Warren Inn, where the couple got ready surrounded by their closest friends and family. From the very start, the energy was warm, emotional, and full of excitement. Their first look took place on-site, and it was nothing short of magical. Not only were Emily and Jenna overcome with emotion, but their wedding party was as well, with happy tears flowing all around.
One of the most unique and meaningful moments of the day was their ceremony. In a symbolic and intentional entrance, Emily and Jenna walked down two separate aisles at the same time, meeting at the chuppah together; a beautiful representation of stepping into their next chapter side by side. The ceremony was officiated by their mothers, making it even more personal and heartfelt.
Throughout the day, the couple’s creativity and care for detail truly shined. The DIY florals were a standout element, thoughtfully crafted during a pre-wedding gathering with friends. From bouquets to reception décor, every piece felt personal, intentional, and beautifully executed.
Guests also loved the interactive touches woven throughout the celebration, including the O.M.Gee Events polaroid guestbook station, which quickly became a favorite. It gave guests the opportunity to capture memories and leave messages for the couple in a fun and meaningful way.
As the celebration continued, Emily surprised guests with an outfit change; adding a dazzling, fun, and memorable moment to the day. The couple's first dance, choreographed by Concierge Ballroom, was another highlight, blending fluidity and personality in a way that felt completely true to them. One of the most special details was the wedding cake, lovingly made by Jenna’s sister and topped with the cutest, most personal cake topper.
Throughout it all, Emily and Jenna were nothing short of radiant. Their love for each other was evident in every glance, every hug, and every small moment of support they shared throughout the day.
Behind the Scenes: Teamwork, Quick Thinking & Going Above and Beyond
Behind the scenes, the O.M.Gee Events team worked tirelessly to bring every detail to life. From setting up the extensive ceremony space, including the chuppah, florals, and altar, to managing all DIY décor elements. The team ensured everything was executed beautifully and according to plan.
The day came with its fair share of unexpected challenges, but each one was handled with quick thinking and teamwork. When the boutonnieres were accidentally left behind at the hotel, the team quickly made the trip back to retrieve them, ensuring no detail was missed.
Strong winds throughout the day created additional obstacles, with signage needing to be secured on the spot using extra materials. Later, during cocktail hour, a sudden thunderstorm alert prompted the team to act fast! Once guests were seated for the reception, assistants quickly returned to the ceremony site to break down and secure all décor before the weather could impact it. With the ceremony set up on a hill, this was no small task, but the team handled it efficiently and seamlessly.
There was even a brief concern with flickering lights at the venue, but with communication and preparedness (including a backup generator on standby), everything remained on track without disruption.
What stood out most was the level of dedication behind the scenes. From coordination to setup to cleanup, every member of the team worked together to ensure Emily and Jenna could fully enjoy their day without worry.
Emily and Jenna’s wedding was a true reflection of love, intention, and community. A day filled with meaningful moments, thoughtful details, and a celebration that will not soon be forgotten.
Congratulations Emily & Jenna!
Vendor Voices:
"As a wedding photographer in the Philadelphia area for the past 20+ years, I work with a lot of planners. Allie and I worked together a few weeks ago and my experience with her and her team were fantastic. Most planners are organized (naturally), but a few of them will stand out for me personality-wise. Allie has such a warm and friendly vibe. She definitely added a note of sparkle and positivity to the day. Not to mention she was completely on top of everything, even in the pouring rain. Both me and my assistant loved her."

"I had such a wonderful experience working with Allie and her team at The Washington last weekend. Her communication was excellent from start to finish, and her team was professional, friendly, and jumped right in alongside our venue staff. We worked seamlessly together, tag-teaming the ceremony and ensuring everything ran smoothly for our couple.
Most importantly, our couple was so happy, and it was clear that Allie genuinely cares about creating a great experience for her clients. It was a pleasure working together, and I would happily recommend her and her team to future couples and fellow wedding professionals.
I am already looking forward to working with Allie and her team again in the future! :)"
